If we find no usable records for a VIN, we automatically credit you an unused report as store credit – usable for another vehicle. You only pay for reports that provide real information value.

How do refunds work?

Three cases: (1) Inconclusive report – if no usable data is available for a vehicle, we automatically credit you an unused report as store credit (no cash payout), usable for another vehicle. (2) Fully unused package – within 30 days a voluntary refund to your payment method is possible, as long as no report from the package has been created yet; with a 3-report package the refund lapses as soon as the first report has been created. (3) Already used – once a report has been created or a package has been partially used, a refund is excluded. Remaining reports stay available in your account (credit valid for 6 months), not payable in cash.

Can I check a vehicle without a VIN?

Yes. As an alternative to the VIN, you can in many cases use the official number plate – just select the country of registration. Plate lookup is currently available only for certain countries (at present mainly the Netherlands); for other countries, please use the VIN.
